Bake a pie according to instructions on a can of pumpkin.
By the way, you can always use milk, even skim milk, in place of the evaporated milk. Reduces calories and I can't tell the difference.
It's ready. (I used skim milk.)
Slice the pie. (Or apply this topping to a whole pie. For a whole pie, toss bananas in lemon juice first so they will last longer without turning brown.)
Top with sliced bananas.
Top with brown sugar, as much as you like.
Broil for about 1 minute until slightly burned on top. You can also use a kitchen torch. Brûlée should be crisp and burned enough that you can tap on it with a fork.
